Brazilian and Russian Delegations Visit the School of Aeronautics to Deepen Exchange and Cooperation

I. The 2nd China–Brazil Joint Symposium on Aeronautical Research and Cooperation

On the morning of October 23, 2025, the 2nd China–Brazil Joint Symposium on Aeronautical Research and Cooperation was successfully held in Conference Room A110, Aeronautics Building. More than twenty participants attended the symposium, including leaders and faculty members of the School of Aeronautics, as well as experts and scholars from the University of Brasília and the University of São Paulo. The symposium was chaired by Professor Zhou Jie.


Party Secretary Yu Hui delivered a welcome speech to Professor Márcio, Vice President of the University of Brasília, and the six-member Brazilian delegation. He noted that Brazil is an important partner under the Belt and Road Initiative and a BRICS country, and that China and Brazil have maintained friendly relations with cooperation across multiple sectors. Since establishing contact last year, the School of Aeronautics and Brazilian aeronautical universities including the University of Brasília have conducted four mutual visits within two years, reflecting close and active exchanges. Both institutions play key roles in cultivating aviation professionals and contributing to national aeronautics development. He expressed strong confidence that this visit would further promote future cooperation in joint research and talent cultivation.
Professor Márcio also reviewed the visits made by Chinese ministerial delegations to the University of Brasília over the past two years and reaffirmed the strong friendship between the two universities, expressing great expectations and confidence in future collaboration.

During the academic exchange and cooperation discussion session, in-depth communications were conducted on topics including aeroacoustics, fatigue, impact dynamics, and low-altitude economy. Presentations were delivered by Professor Zhou Jie, Professor Ma Yuye, Professor Guo Yazhou, Associate Professor Wu Chenyang, and Associate Professor Guo Qing from the School of Aeronautics, as well as Professor Renato, Professor Li Weigang, Professor Doka, and Researcher Miguel from Brazilian universities. Both sides expressed expectations to implement the cooperation contents stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding and student exchange agreements signed this year, particularly in areas such as joint research programs, joint student training, and co-organized model aircraft competitions.


II. 2025 China–Russia Symposium on Aeronautical Research and Cooperation

On the afternoon of October 23, the 2025 China–Russia Symposium on Aeronautical Research and Cooperation was successfully held in Conference Room A110, Aeronautics Building. Over ten experts and scholars from the Moscow Aviation Institute and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), together with leaders and faculty members of the School of Aeronautics, attended the symposium. The meeting was chaired by Professor Li Ni.


Party Secretary Yu Hui welcomed Professor Sergey, Vice President of the Moscow Aviation Institute, and his five-member delegation. He reviewed the remarkable achievements made over the past three years in joint student training programs and the establishment of joint research laboratories, and fondly recalled the close cooperation during the preparation stage of the “4+0” cooperative education program, as well as previous visits of MAI presidents and dean-level delegations.
Professor Sergey expressed his appreciation for the invitation to visit the School of Aeronautics for the first time, highly praised the School’s achievements in education and scientific research, and voiced his expectation that the bilateral cooperation and joint education programs would cultivate a new generation of outstanding engineering professionals.

During the academic exchange session, both sides conducted discussions on bio-inspired aircraft, fluid mechanics, and biomechanics. Presentations were given by Professor Li Ni, Professor Meng Xuanshi, Associate Professor Xue Dong, as well as Professor Valery from MAI and Professor Dmitry from Skoltech.


This visit was a sub-event of the 23rd China International Talent Exchange Conference (Shaanxi Session) and also one of the School of Aeronautics’ major international partnership activities this year. The exchange has further strengthened mutual cooperation and laid a solid foundation for future win–win collaboration.
