题目Mechanics of Nanostructured Networks:Microstructural Evolution and Dynamic Properties

摘要

Concepts such as entanglement and multimodality have been widely explored in polymer physics to understand the structures and mechanics of flexible molecular chain networks. Phenomena such as the glass transition and viscoelastic responses to external cues can be well explained with developed models in this field, allowing rational design of polymeric materials with high performance and multifunctions. In this talk, I will discuss how these ideas could be implantedinto the network of semiflexible nanostructures, such as carbon nanotubes and graphene. We will demonstrate microstructural evolution of networks under mechanical loading, strengthening and toughening mechanisms of nanostructure assemblies by introducing bimodal crosslinks, and the dynamic properties of networks with responsive crosslinks. With the significance of enthalpic elasticity in these networks of low-dimensional nanostructures, their performance could be elevated compared to the polymer networks with an entropic nature, holding promises in relevant structural and functional applications.

徐志平教授简介:

徐志平博士2002年和2007年于清华大学获得学士和博士学位,此后分别在2007-2008年和2008-2010年间分别在美国Rice大学和麻省理工学院从事博士后研究工作,2010年起在清华大学航天航空学院工作,现任工程力学系教授。徐志平博士主要研究微纳米结构材料与器件中的力学问题,自2005年起在此领域发表论文百余篇,被引用四千余次;基于这些工作,于2012年获得国家自然科学基金委优秀青年基金资助,2015年入选中组部万人计划青年拔尖人才。关于徐志平个人科研和教学的信息可参见以下的研究组主页: http://www.cel-tsinghua.org
